So...For our day date, we went to Nielsen's Grove park and had KFC for lunch. Brittany spilled her root beer all over the table, so we had this cute little napkin design up and down the center of the table in an attempt to mop it up. After lunch, Kyle and James brought out the ice cream from Kyle's car, and I swear, that was just about the coldest ice cream I've ever had! Kyle's hands were actually burning with cold from digging through all the ice it was drowned in. There was the actual container of ice cream, which was sitting in ice, which was inside this bucket thing, which was inside another container, and smothered in insulating blankets. Yeah. Pretty cold stuff. We all got brain freezes. ;) It was way good, though! At about this point, Britney and Nicole had to go to their hair appointment, so the rest of us played badminton while Kyle and Bridger took them home. It was extra funny, first of all to watch James and John try to set up the net, but also because Sarah had never played any kind of racket sport before, not even tennis! We didn't really keep score, so nobody won...officially, anyway. :D After this, I had to go for my hair appointment.
That night, I got picked up around 6, and I was NOT quite ready. Not to mention that my entire immediate family (plus my grandma) was there, armed with three cameras, two of which had video capabilities. So yeah, now you're probably wondering why I didn't post more pictures. Um, because I didn't want to, plus one of the camera people was like 4 feet tall, and had the camera going every which way. Yay for my little sis! But more about this later...
The pictures were fun, just that the line was kinda long. But it was okay, I got to talk to and see a lot of people there! We were going to plan this really awesome pose (for our group, anyway), but we never actually came up with anything, so we just had the photographers tell us what to do. Oh well, at least Sarah didn't have to do the same pose as every other one she's done!
Sizzler was good stuff. First there were the cute little kids that were staring at our dresses like none other, and then there were some people from Sarah's ward there whom she tried to hide from, and the manager person mismatched Bridger's and John's dates...yeah. John, Sarah, and I all ordered the salad bar, and I'm glad it wasn't just me. It would have been really awkward to just be sitting there eating while everyone else was still waiting for their food. Still was kind of awkward, but not as much since there were three of us eating instead of just one. :D I had a near-catastrophic experience when I almost spilled my ice cream on my dress, but luckily Mom's constant nagging had been drilled into me enough that I was eating "over the table". *Phew
We got to the dance at around ...what, 9:15 or so? And there was already a pile of heels near the door. ;) I set a goal of keeping my heels on until 11:00, but I didn't quite make it. They came off at like 10:15. Oh well, my feet felt sooo much better after that, even if my dress did drag a little more. It was REALLY hot on the dance floor, though, and not much room to do anything. Which is probably why so many people were OUTSIDE. Although the outside of the building didn't look that great, the inside is very nice.
Thank you for your patience. And NOW, the pictures (Oh, so fabulous...;) )!!!!Me after getting my hair done...and no, I don't have any makeup on yet :P
I blame my dad for the blurry shot, but this one is better than the first one he took.
Now, this last clip is basically in here just to show what I look like after I got home. Dead tired, and I just realized that I sound really annoying. :P Sorry about that. Oh, and just to clarify, the little girl I'm talking about (more like mumbling about) at the beginning is this adorable small person from Sizzler who told me she thought my dress was "beautiful!". Big word for such a small kid.
All in all, I had a GREAT time! Even though I was the only sophomore in my group, I felt like we all got along pretty well, and I learned things about some people I didn't know before....(ahem, Bridger and Kyle...:D) Haha, but it was fun. I'm so glad I got to go! Thanks so much for a great time! :D
