Wow I am still just sooo tired. Actually, I think I've been in a perpetual state of tiredness for a while now, I just happen to have an excuse for it this weekend.
It started with the homecoming game on Friday night. By the way, WOOT we won!!!! I forget the score, but it was by more than just a slim margin. I was on the phone for most of the second half because a couple of friends and I were trying to coordinate an after-game activity, which ended up not really working out, but oh well. We stopped at Winger's on the way home instead, and although I've been there maybe once before in my life, I don't remember a thing from it. Haha I really like the popcorn bowl appetizer. ;) I felt sort of ridiculous in my school spirit gear, though. Oh well. If we had gone to the movie I probably would have felt even sillier. By the time I got home, I just crashed on the couch, clothes and all. I didn't move until about 9:30 the next morning, when Hannah brought over the slip and tiara. ;) By the way, THANK YOU AGAIN SO MUCH HANNAH FOR LETTING ME BORROW YOUR DRESS AND STUFFS YOU ARE AWESOME! :D :D
At 10:30, I went over to Elise's to make boutonnières. It was pretty great, we watched an internet video that showed us how to do them. ;) They turned out okay, though, and I discovered that I REALLY like doing them. Maybe I'll work in a florist shop, maybe for Elise's sister, Laurel. We convinced her she needed to have her own floral so that she could call it Laurel's Floral. ;)
So, after that... It was about 12:30, maybe 1-ish. Time to get ready, I guess. Mom made me a smoothie to suck on while I was doing stuff, and I ate a piece of my mom's cornbread for my "breakfast". I decided to be brave and do my own hair for this dance. It took WAY too long to be sensible, but it turned out pretty nicely. I was proud of myself. :D On hair alone, I spent two hours. Ridiculous, I know.
And THEN my parents tell me that everyone is going up to Brigham City to eat at this nice restaurant, and so they'll be gone before I get picked up. I panicked for about half a second, but then I let it go, because I could probably get the last-minute things done by myself just fine. It was just sort of anti-climactic, you know? Oh well. So they showed me how to work the timer on the camera, and told me to remember to take a picture before we left that night. :P It was kinda off-center since I had to perch the camera on the edge of the piano, and I couldn't really see the screen from that angle. Because I was alone when my date came, there is only that one crooked picture of at-my-house (ahem, that means Q and company, don't rail on me for not having enough pictures!! It's not completely my fault! Btw, the picture at the top of this post was taken by Rachael at Andrew's house. It might be a little grainy because my phone took it). There are a couple that my parents took of just me in my dress before they left, but I wasn't really done prepping at that point. For example, the poofy slip that made me look like a giant raincloud isn't on yet, nor is my jewelry.
We took pictures at UVU, and it was then that I found out how it feels to be a very fat person. My dress was by far the biggest in our group, and I felt like a giant rain cloud a lot, and whenever I got into the car, I had to push my puff down. Sarah commented that if we got into a crash, my dress could be my airbag. I wonder how much extra weight I was carrying around... ;)
The other girls in my group! (These came from my phone, while we were chilling at Andrew's and waiting for the guys to get set up.)
Sarah was Andrew's date, and she had the coolest hair ever. It was weaved or something...
Elise! What more can I say? ;) Elise was Hugh's date.
Genni really didn't like the fact that she was wearing makeup. She went with Justin.
For dinner, we went to Andrew's house, where the table was set elaborately, and every place had a nameplate. Our dates disappeared into the kitchen after seating us girls, and they brought us our salads. Then, after we had all finished that course (SO good, some recipe involving strawberries and bacon and stuff), they took our plates and brought out little fruit bowls of cantaloupe (which I'd never had before) and green grapes, along with the main course: A scoop of spanish rice stuff, green beans with sliced almonds, and a chicken dish. It was all so delicious, and us girls all felt like we were going to burst out of our dresses. Still, our dates took our things into the kitchen again and brought out peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream. Wow. Somehow, we fit that in, too.

My feet still hurt by the end of the night, but it was much more comfy. :) I wish I'd taken pictures of the Northampton House, but if you're really curious you can use the hyperlinks instead. It was really big; we had the Courtyard Room and that outside garden part, and then we also had the Somerset Room, so there was plenty of room. Or so I thought. There were still times were I felt like a sardine in a can. (By the way, in those pictures, you just have to imagine them without chairs in them.) Now that I think about it, I think we had basically the whole place. We hung out in the Somerset room most of the time, and occasionally it was so empty that our group pretty much had the whole room to ourselves. I did teach Nick some of the cha cha and waltz that I know; it was fun. I fell in love with the dance remix version of the theme song, Time After Time, so I put it on my blog playlist. :) It was a great way to end the dance. Our mode of transportation to and from the dance was Hugh's sweet blue 15-passenger van. I'm sure we had the coolest vehicle there. ;) We went back to Andrew's house to sort back into our other cars to go home, and I got home around 12:15 or so. Once again, I was dead tired, but at least this time I didn't fall asleep in my clothes. I got into my PJ's and my bed this time, but I forgot to take off my makeup before I fell asleep. Oops. I woke up Sunday morning looking like the living dead from my smeared eye makeup.
All in all, I had an amazing time at Homecoming. The game was awesome, and the dance was even more fun. :) I'm glad I got to go.
