I know it sounds cliche to say, but this year has really gone by so fast! I was reading out of my journal last night, and things that happened at the beginning of the year seemed not that long ago to me.
It's definitely been a year of learning for me. I've done some really stupid things since last New Year's, but I've learned from those mistakes. Hopefully there are at least one or two of those mistakes that I won't ever make again. I've also had amazing opportunities, and I'm so glad that I took advantage of them. There were lots of good experiences: I've visited family, traveled to national parks, sent off missionaries, put on a dress for the first time since I was about eight (oh dear), started at a new school, made new friends, finally got up the courage to do a flip on a trampoline (even if I did hurt myself a bit), and more importantly, learned things about myself. I've come out of my comfort zone a little, and have gotten better at making decisions. I have also made spirituality a more central part of my life, and it feels great.
Almost everyone makes resolutions for the new year, and I'm no different. I think, for 2008, I want to build on what I'm already working to achieve. I want to be a better listener for others, and prioritize my life so I don't have mental breakdowns every other week! :P Looking at resolutions from last year, I guess I realize that not all resolutions are reasonably going to be achieved by the end of the year (heh). But I can try, right? All anyone can ask is your best.
Happy New Year, everyone! :)
