Deer Fish Ewe a Mare Egrets Moose...

(For those of you who didn't get that, it's "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".)

Three days left until Christmas! I just did all my family Christmas shopping today. Am I a procrastinator or what? ;) Luckily I found everything I needed, though. I only made two stops, too! I must say, my wrapping skills leave something to be desired, but oh well. I'll work on that.

When I got home, I joined the bakery team in making sweets. My grandma's Christmas bakery is ginormous and extremely busy, but our subdivision here on the mainland is still pretty fun to work in, too. I got to make my friend's sugar cookie recipe, finally, and I'm pretty pleased with the way they turned out. Mom's had the fudge going for a couple of days now, and the snickerdoodles are just barely getting started. Yes, I know, we're a little behind! Even though I only did the entire batch of sugar cookie dough, I'm exhausted, not to mention a little sugared out (no, I am not at all a cookie dough addict...). So I'm taking a little break from the baking to write my post!

Although I'm still kind of (okay, a little more than "kind of") bitter about being stuck here for Christmas, there's one thing we have this year that's pretty hard to find in Hawaii (unless of course you're on Mauna Kea): snow! We get a white Christmas this year! And it's supposed to snow some more for Christmas! It's quite exciting. So, while the rest of my family admires their white sandy beaches, I will admire my white blanket of snow. :)
